A 3.5 week project where the intention was to create a product from entirely wasted resources. Utilizing scraps from around the shop, old produce boxes from work, and left over finish, we were able to create a series of entirely biodegradable disc golf putters.
Due to our short timeline 3D printing wasn't a viable method of producing molds, instead using scrap mdf, I created 4 molds on a ShopBot CNC Machine. I then coated them with a water based polyurethane to create a waterproof finish. This allowed me to rapidly produce discs, at 4x the rate we would've been able to do with a 3D printed mold, and figure out the right density of cardboard pulp.
